Week five – Storify and Facebook

  1. Practical: Establish a Storify account

This week’s practical is to establish a Storify account. This is my first time to hear about Storify and my account is https://storify.com/angiekuo.

People commonly don’t want something completely new, they tend to use familiar things. Based on the concepts I learned from interaction design, Storify can be a negative example. I found hard to interact with this platform and I felt anxious due to I didn’t know how to proceed further. When I tried to type Storify in google, I found many people encounter of the same problem as me.

2. Inquiry: Flickr

My interest is graphic design. Photomedia will be one of the subjects that I am willing to learn in next term. Flickr is the most suitable social media for my interest. Flickr is a sharing-photo platform. This platform is popular for people who like photography as it provides 1oooMB of free storage, it also supports an active and engaged community where people share and explore each other’s photos. The other attraction is that they have a photographer communication flickr blog. The flickr blog displays some activities such as “Flickr Heroes of the week” which can encourage people to upload their outstanding photos.

3. Technical: Complete Quiz 5 –

This week I learned ten common mistakes of grammar in chapter three. I found this is not hard to complete the quiz. The only one I did incorrect in quiz is question four, it is regarding ‘half’ which is a collective noun and in this case it is plural because the sentence is referring to two halves. The verb ‘is’ should therefore be ‘are’ so that subject (the halves) and verb agree.

  1. Hi Angie,

I love your blog! I myself have the same problem with storify and found it rather difficult to navigate around. It isn’t a social media platform that I’d use daily nor any other day but I am open to the idea of something different. Great work, I look forward to reading more of your posts throughout the term!
